Responsibilities

  • Develops a schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of an assigned project, updates detailed and accurate 3-week Look-Ahead plan on weekly basis.
  • Collaborates with Shop and other staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor. Provide Shop with adequate notification for tools and equipment needed.
  • Coordinates and schedules the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via project foreperson to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate.
  • Creates and runs project meeting with subcontractors to ensure project stays within timeline and budget.
  • Communicates with Project Manager as needed to identify plan changes
  • Maintains and finalizes project documentation, specially “As-Built” documents. Submits detailed and accurate daily reports.
  • Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
  • Collaborates with architect, engineer, attorney, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.
  • Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
  • Obtains required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.
  • Manages subcontractors, ensure they have materials needed and are performing correct work; answers questions, monitors work, etc.
  • Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
  • Maintains records related to costs and inventory.
  • Ensures a secure and healthy work environment by maintaining safety measures. Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
  • Collaborates with union representatives to answer questions and clarify procedures if needed.
  • Completes project on schedule, within budget and to the satisfaction of customer and owner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Experience on commercial construction projects of $15 million+
  • Willing to work hard, learn a ton, collaborate with a team, and have fun
  • Ability to manage customer relationships, perceptions, and expectations
  • Creative thinker and attentive to details, problem solver
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Willing and able to work from job sites (when needed)
  • Proficiency in Excel a plus
  • CAD experience a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Management skills, experience in team and project management
  • Ability to work with and manage a large team of contractors and subcontractors seamlessly (i.e., managers, owners, project managers, field leadership, vendors, and tradespeople)
  • Organized, thorough work ethic
  • Analytically and mathematically-minded
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or related field or relevant experience.
